The Sabalgarh fort is in ruins today, but still its walls, gates, strewn ruins of old palaces, temples and mosques make us remember about the greatness present in past. History lovers and tourists can find it to be an interesting place.

Name and Definition

Sabalgarh comes with the two words Sabal and Garh. The name Sabal literally denotes the name of the local ruler, Sabal Singh Gurjar who has been thought to be the first builder of this fort. Garh is the word which means fort or fort. That is why Sabalgarh does not mean Sabalgarh but means rather Sabal Singh Fort. Both the township which grew up around this fort were as well called Sabalgarh. Consequently, the name also goes hand in hand with the fortress.
