Dakshineshwar Kali Mandir is located on the banks of the Ganges in the northern part of Kolkata and was established by Rani Rashmoni in 1855. Rani Rashmoni was a charitable zamindar who planned to go to Kashi for a pilgrimage on the banks of the Ganges. The night before the journey, he had a vision of Goddess Kali in his dream.
